Singer-songwriter Daniel ROA has released his first solo album!  Now in stores, the album Le nombril du monde will be officially released today, at Le Gymnase (4177 St-Denis, Montreal QC).  Always efficient, Daniel will also seize the opportunity to announce the launch his new line of ROA socks.  Additionally, Daniel ROA will also perform tomorrow night at 8:00pm as part of the Festival Vue sur la relève, in an evening hosted by Tomás Jensen, at the Maison de la culture Frontenac (2550 Ontario E, Montreal QC).

THE ALBUM
Containing 13 tracks, all written by Daniel, and recorded over the course of many months, Le nombril du monde made use of the services of three separate recording studios (Norman Dugas Productions in Winnipeg, Sublime Sonic Moment in Winnipeg, Studio 270 in Montréal), in order to record the sounds of nearly 20 musicians.  And for this, Daniel ROA called upon the best: Murray Pulver, Ariane Jean, Ligia Paquin, Jean-Nicolas Trottier and Jérôme Minière are but a few of the many talented musicians who contributed to the album.  Le nombril du monde was executive produced by Daniel ROA, produced by Daniel ROA and Norman Dugas, and is distributed by Distribution APCM.

THE CLOTHING LINE
The first collection of the ROA sock line features two different motifs (argyle and hummingbird), with sizes for men and women.  The socks, made of pima coton, nylon and spandex, are presently available for purchase on Daniel ROA’s website.  Other points of purchase will be added in the coming months.

THE ARTIST
Winner of the 2006 Gala Manitobain and 2006 Chant’Ouest (where he also took home People’s Choice), as well as semi-finalist at the 2006 Festival international de la chanson de Granby, Daniel has developed his art as a consummate professional.  It is by his exceptional talent as a percussionist that Daniel became one of the most sought-after musicians in Western Canada. He has worked with many artists on tour in his neck of the woods, such as Jean-François Breau, Marie-Michèle Desrosiers, Marc Déry, Marie-Denise Pelletier, Madagascar Slim and Zachary Richard.  He has also recorded with over 50 artists.  Finally, the day where Daniel begins his journey on a definitive solo career, guitar on his back, charming audiences all the way.  Already in fall 2008, we see him sharing the stage with the likes of Robert Charlebois and Daniel Lavoie at the Saint-Boniface centennial concert, airing on TV5.  In love with life, song and poetry, Daniel presents an alternative pop woven with original sounds in a style like no other.  With his first album, we are invited to explore Daniel ROA’s fiery musical universe, rich in flavor, overflowing with humor, candor and intelligence.
