This month has been dubbed Mai de la chanson d’ici (Local Music May).  To mark the start of this glorious month, Radio-Canada (CBC French) is airing a most interesting discussion about the evolution of the franco-manitoban music industry.  The entire discussion has been divided into 5 short capsules, each airing at 8:20am from Monday, May 4th, 2009 to Friday, May 8th, 2009 on the morning program Radio-réveil, hosted by Jean Fontaine.  This edition of the round-table discussion, named Café Socrate, will feature: Julie Turenne-Maynard (CDEM), Raymond Beaudry (owner of Garage Café), Norman Dugas (Productions Norman Dugas), as well as Michel Durand of Durand Musique Management.  Listen to it on Radio-Canada Première Chaîne (1050AM; 90.5FM Winnipeg), or via internet.
